Ranking Every AFC South NFL Team

Who is the best team in the AFC South? Week 1 was just kicked off and we had some exciting and interesting action. The AFC South consists of the Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, Tennessee Titans (my favorite team), and the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Houston Texans lost in week 1 to the Baltimore Ravens. The Houston Texans held their own and barely lost this game when I thought the Baltimore Ravens would just blow them out. The Indianapolis Colts and the Jacksonville Jaguars faced off in Indianapolis. Jacksonville Jaguars have never beat the Indianapolis Colts in Indianapolis, and the Indianapolis Colts have never beat the Jacksonville Jaguars in Jacksonville.  I expected the Jacksonville Jaguars to win this game by a landslide. However, the Indianapolis Colts held their own for most of the game. At the end the Jacksonville Jaguars came away with the win. The Tennessee Titans faced off against the New Orleans Saint. The quarterback for the Tennessee Titans, Ryan Tannehill, played awful and threw three interceptions and should have had another two. Despite his awful performance the Tennessee Titans barely lost this game 16-17. However, week 1 does not and will not determine the 2023 season. This ranking will be my personal predictions based off of the overall teams, players, and how I think they will finish the year.

In last place of this division will be the Houston Texans. I am just not impressed with their team. They have a superstar running back with Dameon Pierce but no one other than that. They drafted two rookies in the top 10 this year with quarterback CJ Stroud and defensive end Will Anderson Jr. CJ Stroud has no wide receivers to throw the ball too and overall I am not impressed with their team. In third place will be the Indianapolis Colts. They put up a competitive game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. They are led by their rookie quarterback, Anthony Richardson, who did really well in week 1. He was the best performing rookie quarterback. They also have a superstar running back with Jonathan Taylor, an alright defense, and a promising young wide receiver with Michael Pittman Jr.

Now it comes down to the Tennessee Titans and Jacksonville Jaguars. Second place of the AFC South will be no other than the Tennessee Titans. Now this one is tough for me and I went back and forth on who I was picking for number one. I think the Tennessee Titans have the best wide receiver with Deandre Hopkins, I think they have the better defense, and I think they have the better running back with Derrick Henry. However, the Jacksonville Jaguars have a better quarterback with Trevor Lawrence and I also think they have the better wide receiver core as well as a better tight end. What is holding back the Tennessee Titans is their quarterback. I do not like Ryan Tannehill and I don’t think he is a good player, I call him Ryan Tanneturd. He is just extremely disappointing. The Tennessee Titans drafted a rookie quarterback this year with Will Levis, and they drafted a quarterback two years ago with Malik Willis. These younger guys need some experience and need to learn but I would rather have them play over him. I still think the Tennessee Titans will have a good season and finish second in their division.

And your AFC South champions will be no other than the Jacksonville Jaguars. They won the division last year and were in the playoffs. Their quarterback, Trevor Lawrence, has improved and played better every single season. They have three great wide receivers with  Calvin Ridley, Zay Jones, and Christian Kirk. They have a superstar running back with Travis Etienne Jr., and a solid rookie running back with Tank Bigsby. They also have a great tight end with Evan Engram. They also have a solid defense, improving from last year. That is why I believe the Jacksonville Jaguars will win the AFC South. This is my final ranking of the AFC South. 1. Jacksonville Jaguars, 2.Tennessee Titans, 3. Indianapolis Colts, and 4. Houston Texans.
