Who is the best team in the NFC East? Week 1 was just kicked off and we had some exciting and entertaining action. The AFC North consists of the Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, Philadelphia Eagles, and Washington Commanders. The Dallas Cowboys had an electrifying week1. The Dallas Cowboys went up against the New York Giants and absolutely obliterated them. The Dallas Cowboys won this game 40-0. The New York Giants looked awful and could not get the football moving no matter what they tried. The Philadelphia Eagles also won in week 1 against the New England Patriots. This was not an impressive win. The Philadelphia Eagles should have easily won this game. However, they barely won and only did because of their defense. The Washington Commanders also got a win in week 1 over the Arizona Cardinals. The Washington Commanders barely won this game. I expected it to be a blowout because everyone ranked the Arizona Cardinals dead last, but they put up a fight. It was an interesting and entertaining week 1. However, week 1 does not and will not determine the 2023 season. This ranking will be my personal predictions based off of the overall teams, players, and how I think they will finish the year.
At the bottom of the division will be the New York Giants. They have no good wide receivers, they have an elite tight end with Darren Waller, an overrated quarterback with Daniel Jones, an alright defense, and a superstar running back with Saqon Barkley. However, Darren Waller and Saqon Barkley are both injury prone. These two always seem to get injured and if they go down then the NewYork Giants have no one. In third place will be the Washington Commanders. They have a solid defense, they have a great young running back with Brian Robinson, they have a potential star wide receiver with Jahan Dotson, and they have a superstar wide receiver with Terry McLaurin (“Scary Terry”). However, they are lead by quarterback Sam Howell. Sam Howell has been a backup for a couple of years now and is finally starting. He has a lot to prove and has potential but I have to rank the Washington Commanders lower because of him. He could be great or just alright.
Now it comes down to the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles. Second place of the NFC East will be no other than the Philadelphia Eagles. This was a hard pick for me and I could honestly see this going either way. I could see the Philadelphia Eagles being first or second, but I am going to have to go with second place. The Philadelphia Eagles have improved during the offseason and added two phenomenal rookie defensive players with Nolan Smith Jr and Jalen Carter. The Philadelphia Eagles have a great defense, two phenomenal wide receivers with AJ Brown and Devonta Smith, an absolutely stacked running back room including D’andre Swift, and a great young quarterback with Jalen Hurts. Jalen Hurts did great last year but seemed a little shaky and unlike himself to start this season. The Philadelphia Eagles are also the defending NFC champions and lost in the Super Bowl last year. I think if this team wants to finish first, then they need Jalen Hurts to play like his normal self.
And your NFC East champions will be no other than the Dallas Cowboys. Wow what a great win for them, destroying the New York Giants 40-0. They have the best defense in the league with Mikah Parsons and Trevon Diggs leading the way. They have a top ten running back with Tony Pollard, an elite wide receiver with CeeDee Lamb, and a great quarterback with Dak Prescott. This team has improved from last year and has a lot of potential. My only concern is their offense and only because they were not on the field much. The defense was so dominant and scored so many times that the offense was barely on the field. I can see the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles going back and forth and fighting for first and it can also depend on team injuries throughout the season. Either way, I could see either the Dallas Cowboys or Philadelphia Eagles winning the NFC championship and playing in the Super Bowl as both teams are phenomenal. That is why I believe the Dallas Cowboys will win the NFC East. This is my final ranking of the NFC East 1. Dallas Cowboys, 2. Philadelphia Eagles, 3. Washington Commanders, and 4. New York Giants.
