Who is the best team in the NFC North? Week 1 was just kicked off and we had some exciting action. The NFC North consists of the Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers, and Minnesota Vikings. The Chicago Bears faced off against the Green Bay Packers in week 1. The Chicago Bears played terribly in this game and the Green Bay Packers won by 18 points. The Detroit Lions won in week 1 against the defending Super Bowl champions, the Kansas City Chiefs. This was a close game but the Detroit Lions came out on top, winning 21-20. The Minnesota Vikings lost in week 1 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. This was a shocker! I would have guessed that the Minnesota Vikings would have blown them out of the water. However, it ended up being a back and forth game with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers winning by 3. It was an interesting and entertaining week 1. However, week 1 does not and will not determine the 2023 season. This ranking will be my personal predictions based off of the overall teams, players, and how I think they will finish the year.

At the bottom of the division will be the Chicago Bears. They just did not look good in week 1. They have a terrible defense, an alright running back with Khalil Herbert, an elite wide receiver with DJ Moore, and an alright quarterback with Justin Fields. Justin Fields should be taking a leap this year and improving but he isn’t. He can’t read the defense or throw a football, all he can do is run. DJ Moore is being wasted as well since Justin FIelds can’t throw, and only getting one target in week 1. In third place will be the Green Bay Packers. They have an alright defense, they have an elite running back with Aaron Jones, they have a couple of decent wide receivers with Romeo Dobbs and Christian Watson, and they have a promising young quarterback with Jordan Love. 

Now it comes down to the Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings. Second place of the NFC North will be no other than the Minnesota Vikings. The Minnesota Vikings have a phenomenal offense. Their passing game is top 5 in the NFL they just don’t have a good running back. Their running back is Alexander Mattison and he has potential but he also has issues holding onto the football. They have a top 10 quarterback and future hall of famer with Kirk Cousins, they have the best wide receiver in the league with Justin Jefferson, they have a great rookie wide receiver with Jordan Addison, and they have a top 5 tight end with TJ Hockenson. However, they have a bad defense. Their games are always super close because they score easily but also get scored on easily because of how weak their defense is. 

And your NFC North champions will be no other than the Detroit Lions! They just won week 1 against the defending AFC and Super Bowl champions. They have an elite wide receiver with Amon Ra St Brown, they have a solid defense lead by CJ Gardner Johnson and Aidan Hutchinson, they have an elite quarterback with Jared Goff, and they have a promising young running back with rookie Jahmyr Gibbs. Jared Goff hasn’t thrown an interception in the last 10 games he has played. He has thrown 50 touchdowns to 0 interceptions. He is playing at an elite level. Overall the Detroit Lions have a solid and competitive football team. That is why I believe the Detroit Lions will win the NFC North. This is my final ranking of the NFC North. 1. Detroit Lions, 2.Minnesota Vikings, 3.Green Bay Packers, and 4. Chicago Bears.
