A New King Will Take The Thrown...
Drake’s discography has a variety collection of chart-toppers and influential albums that have shaped the modern music landscape we listen to today. With numerous #1 hits to his name, including “God’s Plan,” “One Dance,” “In My Feelings,” and “Toosie Slide,” “Jimmy Cooks”, “Wait for You”, ” What’s next”, “Nice for what”, “Work.”, “What’s my Name?”, “Way 2 Sexy” and his Recent Single, “Slime You Out”, making him 1 single away from tying Michael Jackson and 2 singles away from surpassing him. He has consistently dominated the Billboard charts. His albums, such as “Take Care,” “Nothing Was the Same,” and “Scorpion,” not only showcase his lyrical prowess but also his ability to create anthems that resonate with audiences worldwide.
Although Michael Jackson, one of the most iconic and influential artists of all time, built an impressive discography throughout his career. He delivered memorable singles like “Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough” and “Rock with You.” However, it was his groundbreaking album “Thriller” in 1982 that solidified his status as the King of Pop, producing an astonishing seven #1 singles including “Billie Jean,” “Beat It,” and the title track “Thriller.” His other notable #1 hits include “Bad,” “The Way You Make Me Feel,” and “Black or White.” Michael Jackson’s discography remains a testament to his extraordinary musical legacy and holds a special place in the hearts of fans worldwide.
But what if I told you Michael Jackson has only created 13 #1 singles in 38 years and Drake has created 12 in only 15 years. Drake is literally set to surpass Michael in every way possible. I know, very debatable and will definitely get people talking. But that’s not it. Drake has already surpassed other Famous icons including one of the peoples favorite… The Beatles. Yes, The Beatles. Drake passed The Beatles with the most top five hits in the history of the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Although fans will always lead towards Michael Jackson, due to the fact that he didn’t have streams and social media like we do today. But that is a thing we cannot control. Which is why people can’t debate on things like LeBron vs Jordan, given the fact that time is changing, and the way of the game is too. Well guess what, Music and Technology is changing too. Rapidly at that. Yes, Michael did his with all CD’s and Record sales, but drakes first 3 albums were all CD’s as well. Just how hoopers say “Ball Don’t lie”…Numbers don’t lie either.
Soon, there will be a new king at the thrown.
