Who is the best team in the AFC East? We had lots of exciting action in week 1 throughout the NFL, but especially in the AFC East. The AFC East consists of the Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots, and Newy York Jets. The Buffalo Bills faced off against their division rivals the New York Jets in week 1. This was an interesting game. The New York Jets signed hall of fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers this off season and are a favorite to win the Super Bowl this year. Four plays into the game Aaron Rodgers tore his achilles and was ruled out for the whole season. New York Jets backup quarterback, Zach WIlson, played the entire game and will play this whole season. Buffalo Bills quarterback, Josh Allen, had a rough start and threw three interceptions. The New York Jets came out on top and beat the Buffalo Bills. The Miami Dolphins faced off against the Los Angeles Chargers. This was a thrilling game, and was the best week 1 game. It came down to the wire and the Miami Dolphins pulled away with the win. WIde receiver, Tyreek Hill, looked phenomenal with over 200 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns. Quarterback, Tua Tagovailoa, threw for over 400 yards! The New England Patriots took a loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. The New England Patriots had two chances to take the lead with potential game winning drives, but failed. They put up a hard fight and barely lost to the NFC champions who were in last year’s Super Bowl. However, week 1 does not and will not determine the 2023 season. This ranking will be my personal predictions based off of the overall teams, players, and how I think they will finish the year.

At the bottom of the division will be the New England Patriots. The New England Patriots have a solid defensive, a decent quarterback with Mac Jones, a good tight end with Hunter Henry (who was the number one tight end in fantasy this week), and a phenomenal running back with Rhamondre Stevenson. However, They are lacking good pass catchers. In third place will be the New York Jets. I know this one is a shocker. The New York Jets have a top five defensive in the NFL, and the best defense in the AFC East. They also have two electric, young offensive players with running back Breece Hall and wide receiver Garrett Wilson. However, they just lost their starting quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, and Zach Wilson just isn’t that guy. Before the Aaron Rodgers injury I would have put the New York Jets at number one. I still think the New York Jets will have a decent season but losing Aaron Rodgers will drastically affect their season. 

Now it comes down to the Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins. Second place of the AFC East will be no other than the Buffalo Bills. The Buffalo Bills have an elite quarterback with Josh Allen. Josh Allen just needs to work on his turnovers. The Buffalo Bills also have a top eight defense in the NFL as well as a top eight wide receiver with Stefon Diggs. They have questions to fill in the running back room, and a promising young rookie tight end with Dalton Kincaid. I think the Buffalo Bills will have a great season and finish second in their division. 

And your AFC East champions will be no other than the Miami Dolphins! WOW, did they have a historic game one. Tua Tagovailoa and Tyreek Hill absolutely killed it! Tua Tagovailoa passing for over 400 yards and Tyreek Hill having over 200 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns. The Miami Dolphins have the two fastest wide receivers in the league with Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. Tyreek Hill is a top three wide receiver and Jaylen Waddle is a top 18 wide receiver in the NFL. They also have one of the fastest running backs in the league with Raheem Mostert. They also have a decent defense this season and improved quite a bit during the offseason. The Miami Dolphins just have to hope that Tua Tagovailoa stays healthy this season. Last season the Miami Dolphins were one of the best, if not the best, team in the NFL until he had a severe concussion. If Tua Tagovailoa stays healthy they will finish at the top. If he ends up going down then I see the Miami Dolphins dropping to number 3 overall in the AFC East. This is truly a special team and they have a great chance to make a Super Bowl run if the team stays healthy. That is why I believe the Miami Dolphins will win the AFC East. This is my final ranking of the AFC East. 1. Miami Dolphins, 2. Buffalo Bills, 3. New York Jets, and 4. New England Patriots.
