Who is the best team in the AFC North? Week 1 was just kicked off and we had some exciting action. The AFC North consists of the Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland Browns, and Pittsburgh Steelers. The Baltimore Ravens had a rough start in week 1 but ended up on top, beating the Houston Texans. The Cincinnati Bengals and the Cleveland Browns faced off against each other with the Cleveland Browns winning that game. The Cincinnati Bengals couldn’t do anything and Joe Burrow had less than 100 passing yards. Lastly the Pittsburgh Steelers faced off against the San Francisco 49ers and got demolished. At one point they only had 1 yard of gain while the San Francisco 49ers had nearly 180. It was an interesting and entertaining week 1. However, week 1 does not and will not determine the 2023 season. This ranking will be my personal predictions based off of the overall teams, players, and how I think they will finish the year.
At the bottom of the division will be the Cleveland Browns. The Cleveland Browns have a great defense, a superstar running back with Nick Chubb, but a questionable quarterback. At one point Deshaun Watson was a great quarterback but it is a big question if he can be the player he once was. In third place will be the Pittsburgh Steelers. Mike Tomlin has coached the Pittsburgh Steelers for 16 years and never had a losing record. The Pittsburgh Steelers have a great defense and plenty of young talent to work with. I think George Pickens has the potential to be a superstar and Kenny Pickett has the potential to be a good quarterback. As far as defense they have two phenomenal superstars in Minka Fitzpatrick and TJ Watt.
Now it comes down to the Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals. Second place of the AFC North will be no other than the Baltimore Ravens. The Baltimore Ravens have an elite passing and rushing quarterback with Lamar Jackson, they just need him to stay healthy. They have a decent defense with a solid overall room of cornerbacks. They have one of the best tight ends in the league ,Mark Andrews, who I hope can stay healthy this season. They also have promising young talent with their rookie wide receiver Zay Flowers. However their running back one, JK Dobbins, tore his achilles in game one and will be out for the season. I still think the Baltimore Ravens will have a great season and finish second in their division.
And your AFC North champions will be no other than the Cincinnati Bengals! I know they lost week 1 to the Cleveland Browns 24-3. They looked terrible. Every year the Cleveland Browns beat them at least once, on top of that their quarterback Joe Burrow got injured in the off season and didn’t have much practice time with his team. Joe Burrow is one of the best quarterbacks in the league, and my favorite quarterback. He just signed the largest contract deal for a quarterback in NFL history, signing a five year $275 million contract. The Cincinnati Bengals won the division last year and made it to the AFC championship game, where they barely lost to the Kansas City Chiefs. Joe Burrow is 3-1 against one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time, Patrick Mahomes. That’s why everyone calls Joe Burrow Patrick Mahomes dad and says he owns him. The Kansas City Chiefs play in Arrowhead stadium and people call it Burrowhead Stadium now. The Bengals also have arguably the best wide receiver room in the NFL having Jamar Chase, Tee Higgins, and Tyler Boyd. Jamar Chase is alone a top five wide receiver in the NFL. They have a good defense and a top 15 running back with Joe Mixon. During the offseason the Bengals also improved the team, especially their offensive line. They signed left tackle Orlando Brown Jr., who played with the Kansas City Chiefs last year and won the superbowl. That is why I believe the Cincinnati Bengals will win the AFC North. I think the Cincinnati Bengals might even win the AFC Championship this year, and potentially win the Super Bowl. This is my final ranking of the AFC North. 1. Cincinnati Bengals, 2. Baltimore Ravens, 3. Pittsburgh Steelers, and 4. Cleveland Browns.
